Alterhuman Archive

Terms I made myself are green, terms made by others that I edited, made a flag or symbol for, etc. are in yellow.

Constelic

An alterhuman term coined for those who adopt an identity, or multiple identities, throughout their lives. Someone is not generally born with a stel (constelic identity), but may be born with the general want or unconscious need to adopt or take on identities. These stels do not usually last forever, but they can last a very long time. Constelic also puts heavy emphasis on the fluid nature a stel can have; they may grow or dim in intensity over time, and you may phase from one to the next, either entirely or in priority.

Phoenixal

A term that describes those with a particular kind of past life, believing that they died or otherwise left their past life, and were born again into this one. They may additionally believe that this process has happened many times before, and will continue in the future. An example is someone who was a deer in their past life that died, and was reborn again as a human. Also called fenikaen.

Vesility

Vesility refers to when something affects many or all areas of someone's identity. For example, "outer space" as a concept shaping or affecting someone's gender identity, alterhumanity, systemhood, etc. at the same time, would be vesil. Not exclusive to alterhumanity, but warrants a mention due to usage within the community.

Aldernic

An umbrella term for those who have, or want to have, a body that deviates from what they currently have in some form. In simpler terms, Aldernic refers to someone whose bodily identity is divergent or nonconforming in some way. An Aldernic identity is called an alder, or aldern. Not exclusively an alterhuman term, but warrants a mention because of its use in the community.

Nonhuman

A term that refers to someone who is not a human. It differs from alterhuman, in the sense that the latter may include those who have human-based identities (such as those whose kintype is a fictional human), whereas nonhuman strictly refers to those who are not human.
