A place I made to answer questions I get asked a lot, mostly about certain stuff I made, but it will include other things too.
Probably not. I don't really coin things myself, unless I come up with the idea on my own. I mostly archive and polish things I've already made. If you want to ask me to design a symbol for an alterhuman symbol, I might. I'm more comfortable with symbols these days.
I literally can't stop you, and there's about a 99% chance I'm fine with it anyways. If you accidentally remade something I already made, the most I'd ask from you is a mention of the thing I made on your post. Shit happens, it's fine.
If I haven't shared what I think on something already, I probably don't want to talk about it in general. Please keep in mind that I don't know you, and you don't know me. I also don't care about witch-hunting people. I am severely uncomfortable with the vast majority of "online discourse" for a variety of reasons, please be kind and don't involve me in it.
Whatever I want to keep around, basically.
I describe how my constelity is different from my otherkinnity here. But essentially: I am always my kintypes, and as far as I know, have always been my kintypes. I am always constelic, but I am not always my stels; those can be variable, and be gained or lost over time.
There's a variety of experiences under the umbrella that don't fit xenogender's definition- or really anything, other than "kenochoric" itself. One of the people in my system is kenochoric because he's gendervoid, as an example.
When I say it's meant to be a vague and vibesy term, I mean that it can apply to a variety of things based on interpretation of its meaning. Gendervoid can be kenochoric, because it both relates to voids, but also because it's a form of genderlessness, which depending on the person can feel related to an "empty," "hollow," or similar identity. Not everyone who is genderless, or gendervoid, is going to relate to that experience, but some will. It's case-by-case. Hence: vibes and personal interpretation.
The end result of grouping kenochoric as an umbrella under xenogender, or really anything besides itself, is that it becomes exclusionary and boxed-in to only one "kind" of gender identity. It takes that "vibesy" part out, which excludes some people and makes them feel it can't encompass them- I explicitly made it to not be like that. And, of course, it cuts out people who have always been explicitly part of the umbrella, like the first term I ever put under the umbrella: neagender!
To be clear, there's absolutely people who are both, and I've always been cool with that. I choose my wording carefully when I say it's not inherently under other umbrellas. I basically just want everyone who is kenochoric, in whichever way that is, to be respected. I made kenochoric to fit whoever feels it applies to them, in whichever way they do. You may relate to kenochoric in a specific way, but please remember that your experiences are not universal, and to be respectful of others with a different experience. This includes not mislabelling them.
Aldernic refers to your entire body, whereas altersex refers specifically to your sex.
Altersex can be considered a part of aldernity, and a more "aldernic-sounding" term was made by me at one point, called alderven.
As for why it used to be called an "alternative to altersex"- When I was younger, I had an intersex friend who told me that altersex was an intersexist (anti-intersex) term. I'm not intersex, so I have zero say in that discussion, or how true (or widely-held) that opinion is, but I still wanted to have a term that worked for me. Plus, I wanted something that could encompass my whole body, since I'm alterhuman and that helps me out. So, that's why it was initially coined as an alternative- I was trying to be respectful to a community I'm not a part of. Ultimately, aldernic is a broader term than altersex regardless, so it all worked out in the end.
I removed it, so I could properly focus on this being an archival blog. If I have too many things going on at once on here, I'll get distracted and never get anything done- like this FAQ, lol.
@transhaunting and @nonanthropy on Tumblr are the only places I intend to link together. If I don't share it on my Neocities or Tumblr blogs, I don't want it to be public. I prefer to keep personal info, other blogs, etc. about me private, and I hope you honor that.
It's another word for "nonhuman." I have personal reasons for liking the term just as much, if not even more, than nonhuman itself (though I am fine with both.)
A page for sharing a likeness, and a well-deserved update to othermour.
