no, it’s super unregulated right now and is privy to fucking over the environment and especially workers in a lot of different industries {especially in various creative fields, but not exclusively them.} it’s also a massive gimmick that, in reality, is basically just a cleverbot that people take as an actual reliable source this time, which is fucked up. that could change over time, but still. it’s web 3.0 and crypto all over again, in how it’s being overhyped like crazy and thrown into every new product as a buzzword.

i don’t care about whether it’s Real Art With a Soul, i care about its tangible impact on people who are being fired from jobs that are being thoughtlessly replaced with ai, entire fields being told they’re about to be obsolete because of ai, environmental impacts, etc… this is all happening because it isn’t being regulated whatsoever, working people have zero protections to keep them safe from this kind of thing fucking them over, and it’s being allowed to run wild by a bunch of rich people who already benefit from paying you as little as humanly possible. now they might not need to pay you at all, and they love that!
