the shitty thing about tumblr being so transmisogynistic is you can’t just be like “go to bluesky” or whatever. bluesky is also transmisogynistic. because the entire world is transmisogynistic and it seeps into every algorithm and business and social space. that’s why the word exists. it’s systemic, baked into the very core of society and culture. sure, i could theoretically escape it by blocking the keywords or being in spaces that don’t say the word, but transfems don’t get to just ignore it. when the banhammer comes down, it’s on their head. it doesn’t matter what they do or where they go, it’ll just continue happening until we finally, actually, change the way that algorithms and community behavior operates. and also until people actually take trans women and transmisogyny seriously. the way things are right now, the people lowest on the totem pole also get the shortest end of the stick in pretty much every space besides the ones specifically built by and for them. if people as a community don’t do anything about it it’s just gonna keep fucking happening. how many more trans women need to get banned before we lose our shit and don’t stop losing it.
