Kinda wish I wasn’t feeling more and more vindicated every day about calling it from the start that treating the AI issue like a moral crusade where you have like a moral obligation to prioritize signalling and reaffirming your hatred of generative AI at any possible chance would lead to a lot of ostensibly “progressive” people uncritically parroting extremely reactionary rhetoric.
Like people becoming more comfortable expressing extremely conservative opinions about copyright or extremely catholic opinions about the role of The Human Soul in the nature of art was shitty but expected.
But watching otherwise “progressive” people start to parrot jokes about like “Clanker with a hard R” and “screws will not replace us” and whatnot is like 🫥 Never in my life have I wished more I had been wrong about something lmao
