I feel like theres like so many opinions you havent been open about your views on and it makes it hard to know if i should follow you

respectfully, my opinions are kept private on purpose. this is either because of privacy, or because i just think the entire argument is stupid. if that bothers you or makes you uncertain on if you want to follow me, you have the full right to not follow, or even block me. it won’t offend me. but i am a stranger on the internet, and i have full right to not disclose things about me, or how i feel about anything that i don’t want to.

i am politically active, but i’m not interested in online discourse. i consider them very different things, and the latter is a waste of time and energy. deeply toxic, rife with a lack of nuance, reactionary behavior, harassment, and bad-faith engagement. it makes me miserable, and it probably makes you miserable too. don’t get me wrong, i have opinions on some of it, but i don’t need to share that with strangers. i don’t want to, so i don’t.

also just in case- i’m not sure how my tone sounds in this. so here’s my disclaimer that i’m not trying to sound pissed off. i’m just very firm on this.
