amatopunk:

do these look good….

thoughts behind it / why i made it look like this

the moon with the horizontal stripe going under/through it is meant to vaguely look a bit like an “A” (hence the “punk” in amatopunk)

the center eclipse was thought of because the study of celestial bodies is often a study in planets, moons, and stars and how they may or may not orbit around each other. there’s eclipses [an unnamed sort of “union”], but there’s also the moon around the earth, jupiter with over 70 moons, rings, and, of course, planets with no moons, and planets that are not tethered in orbit to anything [rogue planets]. this can represent how relationships between people in society can present themselves in countless ways, as well as the people who do not participate in some or any of them

the beams around the eclipse, meanwhile, are to represent all the different facets of people affected by amatonormativity, some are colored in the same as the moon [thus representing relationships], and some are not, which could represent people who are amatopunk for other reasons, but are still linked together under one movement
