please don’t send me rumors about real people like this.
i’m not going to spend hours digging for dirt on a random person because of an anon. i’d like to consider myself a happy person who spends my time on worthwhile, enjoyable things. so don’t play callout telephone in my inbox.
it does kinda suck that there’s such a need for terms that are meant to describe specifically being a nonbinary person who is entirely off the binary, because like, you should generally not assume nonbinary people are still attached in some way to that binary unless they specifically say that, and yet that’s really not the world we live in. nonbinary genders can be independent to themselves just like the binary genders are, and being nonbinary while still being attached to one or both binary genders isn’t because they must be, or because they’re less autonomous gender experiences. and yet people are assumed to either be “more of a guy nonbinary” or “more of a girl nonbinary” or “somewhere in-between” or some kind of relation to it, unless explicitly stated to be autonomous. which sucks. some people don’t even understand or accept the idea of autonomous nonbinary genders like maverique, and that can come from supposedly “pro-nonbinary” people! where is the “there are 75 genders and every time you get mad we add another” energy.
like on one hand yeah really awesome and cool that i made the term kenochorique a few years ago for kenochoric people not aligned to the gender binary at all. on the other hand it makes me sad to be aware that if someone says “i’m kenochoric” to another person- one who isn’t nonbinary or even just not in the loop about neogenders- they’re still gonna go “ok but are they a boy kenochoric or a girl kenochoric….” in their head! because people love to binarize nonbinary people so much that having language to specify “no, i’m NOT related to the binary, AT ALL, i’m ENTIRELY NOT THE BINARY EVEN A LITTLE” is not just useful, it’s required in order for people- even some other nonbinary people!!!!!!- to stop misgendering you. and even then some people just straight up don’t think you exist unless you’re a girl nonbinary or boy nonbinary. yay.
btw i’m not saying “these terms are bad and harmful” at all. even in a perfect world, i think these terms are great and useful because they do describe a niche that is smaller than “nonbinary.” my point is moreso that the common conception of “being nonbinary” very rarely if ever includes people who are abinary, to the point where even labelling yourself as a neogender like xenogender, kenochoric, etc. is treated more like a modifier to your “real” gender alignment. aka boylite or girllite. and if you try to escape this people just don’t let you. THAT is my problem.

Could I ask what the colors of the kenomav symbols represent? And thank you so much for the term and flags btw they’re absolutely gorgeous and beautiful 🥺🥺
oh yeah of course! in some of them, i combined purple and orange/yellow, because they’re using the same palette as the kenochoric and maverique flags respectively. the one using reddish pink, meanwhile, is me using a sort of “combined” or mixed color that could be seen as a gradient in-between the two individual color schemes.
the reason for the symbol is because it’s a splicing of both the kenochoric symbol, and the maverique symbol. it has the rings from the kenochoric symbol and they both go out at the middle, but they curve at the ends and have a dot in the middle like the maverique symbol does.
here’s all three side by side, for comparison.
thank you so much for the nice words, i really appreciate it!
This is a term for when someone is both kenochoric and maverique in some way. I couldn’t decide which version of the name I liked the most, so I just used all three.
This is meant to be a broad label for anyone who is in both groups, whether it be simultaneously, being fluid between them, one being a part of the other’s experience, or something along those lines.
Not to be confused with kenochorique, which is a term for someone who is kenochoric in an abinary sense, but not specifically maverique.
The symbol on most of them is a combination of the maverique symbol and the kenochoric symbol, which is right here:
hello maverique fan. i have such a soft spot for this term [maverique] because it was one of the first neogenders i ever discovered as a tween, and one of the oldest alters in our system has been id-ing as it since ey were like, 14. so i just had to hop on this shit immediately

still think the plural of kenochord should be kenochorus tbh
i think that’s cool, but i also think it’d confuse people, especially since “chorus” isn’t a plural word on its own. for instance, kenochorim is sometimes used to describe multiple kenochoric people, but that’s because -im is a plural suffix, like how seraphim is. honestly for the time being, i think kenochords is just the most easy way to word it, though i’m not opposed to there being a potential plural term later down the road
there’s one thing i always think about that really shows other trans people do not think about how disproportionately trans women are targeted. and that’s the “accidentally gender-affirming bigot” joke.
this joke has been made by many, many trans men, transmascs, and other trans people who do not experience transmisogyny. it’s been made a lot because the interaction that sets it up happens all the time. it is the typical modus operandi for transphobes.
they will go on any page that they see has a trans person, and they will comment or otherwise say: “you’ll never be a real woman.”
and then, trans people who are not the target of this joke will get to have a laugh about it. because this is now an Accidentally Gender-Affirming Bigot! how funny! because of course i wasn’t trying to be a woman, and don’t you see how funny it is that this ignorant bigot got it so wrong?
and then it goes on existing as a funny joke about the Accidentally Gender-Affirming Bigot, except the trans people who are not the target of it don’t actually reflect on why someone would say this to them. they don’t think about the fact that the majority of transphobia explicitly targets trans women as fake women and predatory pretenders. the people who think the Accidentally Gender-Affirming Bigot is a funny display of ignorance don’t think about why it’s so funny to them that they were mistaken for and insulted as if they were one of the most vulnerable women in their community. they laugh about it and move on.
this same bigot will go on to say this about every trans woman they see online. these trans women do not get the fun of making an Epic Joke about it. and the bigot does not care that people who were mistakenly hit by that bigotry think it’s funny. the bigot cares about targeting trans women.
it never got officially coined i don’t think, but someone in my system has been identifying as “kenomav” for a while now, and it sounds pretty similar to what ey were talking about.
thoughts on this?
tried to combine the more detailed kenochoric flag with some maverique colors, while still adding an overall purple tint except for the very middle…
Hey @your-bigender-big-brother was asking around about a kenochoric + maverique term, do you know of one?

i feel like vocaloids can also be a sort of gender
significantly cooler than ai. you have to actually tune the voice to your specific parameters and have a language-specific voice bank and a specific vocaloid character and you would tune it in something that almost looks like garageband. i know this because i used to make vocaloid covers of songs i liked with Limewire Hatsune Miku
This has been on my mind since forever as someone who connects to them in both alterhuman and gender ways u are so fucking right
imagine an aldern for being a vocaloid or like, having a vocaloid-esque voice[bank]
it also makes a ton of sense since a lot of vocaloids were made with very specific properties in mind beyond just “being a boy” or “being a girl.” they had specific flavors. vocal sounds. aesthetics and styles. etc.
SHAKING YOU SHAKING YOU SHAKING YOU YES oh my gosh that would be so cool!
and exactly… You understand the voca gender vision… You just get it .. and the fact that even if you use a specific voice bank you can break away from the common idea of their voice design etc by tuning them entirely differently from the norm or having a unique design than the original / common interpretations and I think that’s just sooo gender aswell
yesssss you can literally do voice training on them hahaha. i had miku cover a dude’s song once and i tuned her voice way down and while she didn’t sound “"like a dude,”“ she did sound like a really gruff deep-voiced woman and it was awesome
my favorite vocaloid is see-u and honestly i’ve always kinda personally seen her as kenochoric just because i fucking love her. she was the first korean vocaloid [!!!!] but she also like. had this specific niche of super fucking creepy songs. most people know hide and seek, but there was also shit like i = nightmare that i loved as a kid. my kenochoric creepycute icon
